Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Man with Van Crystal Palace in respect of its operations and supply chains. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation in our business and among our suppliers.
Man with Van Crystal Palace provides local and regional removal, delivery, and associated services. Although we are a relatively small organisation, we recognise that modern slavery can occur in any sector and country, and we are committed to ensuring that our activities do not contribute to these abuses.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Man with Van Crystal Palace has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with any individual, contractor, or organisation involved in such practices, and we expect the same high standards from everyone with whom we work.
This commitment applies to all aspects of our operations, including recruitment, procurement of vehicles, fuel, equipment, storage facilities, and any subcontracted transport or labour services. We are dedicated to conducting business ethically, transparently, and with respect for human rights.
Our Supply Chains and Risk Management
Our supply chains primarily involve vehicle suppliers and maintenance providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, packaging materials, storage facilities, and subcontracted drivers or removal partners. We recognise that risks of labour exploitation can arise in areas such as agency labour, cleaning and maintenance, and outsourced transport services.
To manage these risks, we aim to work with reputable suppliers who can demonstrate that they share our values and commitment to ethical labour practices. We avoid suppliers where we have concerns about labour standards, transparency, or cooperation with our due diligence processes.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are progressively strengthening our due diligence procedures for existing and new suppliers. These measures include initial assessment of supplier suitability, consideration of their labour and human rights policies where available, and documented confirmation that they comply with applicable employment and anti-slavery laws.
Where we identify higher-risk suppliers or categories, we may carry out more detailed checks, request supporting documentation, or conduct audits. Such audits may include reviewing employment records, verifying the right to work, assessing working conditions, and checking that workers are engaged voluntarily and paid fairly.
If a supplier fails to meet our standards or refuses to cooperate with reasonable audit requests, we will take appropriate action, which may include suspending or terminating the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Man with Van Crystal Palace encourages all workers, contractors, and business partners to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns may include suspected forced labour, human trafficking, child labour, or any situation where workers appear to be threatened, controlled, or prevented from leaving their employment.
Reports can be raised with a line manager or senior member of the business, or through any internal reporting route that is made available to workers and subcontractors. We are committed to treating all reports seriously and sensitively, and we will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.
Where appropriate, we will cooperate with relevant authorities and specialist organisations to investigate and address any allegations of modern slavery.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We are working to increase awareness among our staff and regular contractors about the risks and indicators of modern slavery, particularly in the logistics, removals, and transport sectors. This includes guidance on recognising warning signs and understanding how to report concerns safely.
We will continue to review our procedures and expectations for suppliers and subcontractors, with the aim of improving transparency and strengthening protections for vulnerable workers. As the legal and best practice landscape evolves, we will update our approach to reflect new guidance and standards.
Monitoring and Annual Review
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once every 12 months by the leadership of Man with Van Crystal Palace. The review will consider any incidents reported, outcomes of supplier checks and audits, changes to legislation, and feedback from staff and partners.
Where gaps or opportunities for improvement are identified, we will update our policies, procedures, and training. The updated statement will be made available to our staff, suppliers, and customers to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to combating modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business.
